Thispaperproposesanelementarymultidimensionalindexthatsummarizesthreerelevantaspectsoftheeducationalachievements,outofthedataprovidedbythePISAReports.Thethreeaspectsconsideredare:performance,inclusiveness,andexcellence,andwillbeapproximatedbytheaveragescoresandthedistributionofoutcomesinthedifferentlevelsofproficiency.TheIndexofEducationalAchievements(IEA)isthegeometricmeanofthenormalisedvaluesofthosethreevariables.Weanalysethedistributionofthevariablesthatapproachthosethreeaspectsandtheresultingindex,relativetothecorrespondingaveragetestscoresoftheOECDcountries.ThisindexprovidesamuchwiderdiscriminationpowerthanthemerecomparisonDownloads
