Collaborative innovation in Food SMEs: a practice approach

Abstract

The work focuses on the collaborative innovation. It emphasizes the role of relationship and of the resource integration process for the development on innovation and aims to define a practice to support management in the development and fostering of networked innovation process in SMEs. This paper addresses the topic of collaborative innovation in the food SMEs by presenting the results of two studies. The study 1 concerns empirical evidences from 155 Italian food SMEs. It describes the state of the art of the innovation in the Italian food SMEs context. The study 2 relates an in-depth analysis of 10 Italian food SMEs. It frames the innovative behaviour of the firms investigated according to the practice theory.

Angela Caridà, University Magna Graecia of Catanzaro

Angela Caridà is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Magna Græcia University of Catanzaro - Department of Legal, Historical Economic and Social Science, where she received her PhD in Economics and Management of Healthcare in 2011. Her main research interests are: innovation, service management, and interactive creativity. She is member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Electronic Marketing and Retailing. She has received the “outstanding paper award 2013” from the Emerald Literati Network for her article published in the International Journal of Retail & Distribution Management in 2012.

Maria Colurcio, University Magna Graecia of Catanzaro

Maria Colurcio  is Assistant Professor of Management and Marketing at Magna Græcia University of Catanzaro - Department of Legal, Historical Economic and Social Science. She received her PhD in Management in 2001 from the University of Naples “Federico II”. Her main research interests are creativity and innovation, service management, and quality. She has published several articles in both Italian and international journals, including the Food British Journal and International Journal of Innovation Management. She is member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Electronic Marketing and Retailing. She has received the “outstanding paper award 2013” from the Emerald Literati Network for her article published in the International Journal of Retail & Distribution Management in 2012
